Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; age 18 years of age and a citizen of the United States required. Must have a current Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Jailers License (TCOLE). Required to take the Law Enforcement Civil Service Exam (LECSE). Primary duty is to Guard, observe and transport inmates. Duties may include booking, classifying, observing, transferring and releasing inmates with attention to the health, safety and security of other officers, inmates and the public. Conduct inspections, head counts of inmates and competes, checks and possesses official papers and documents.
